For this two-part, interactive performance piece Risa Horn and I first invited participants to record a story of something they had lost, that they still missed by speaking into a red phone receiver. On the second day, visitors lifted the receiver to hear recorded stories collected the day before.

The interface for the project was a web app running on an iPhone whose screen was hidden by a wooden faceplate. Participants could access two buttons: SHARE or LISTEN.

Participants shared stories of lost books, childhood, virginity, cats, photos, parents, luggage, children, clothes, identity, keepsakes, toys, friends, jewelry.
Stories are online here: LISTEN
