Wind Drawing: Boston/Logan. Interactive Processing.js data visualization, 2013.
This visualization project is inspired by a high school student of mine who loved to use ink or watercolor and a straw to make "jellyfish" by blowing streams of color across a white page. I like the idea that breath can become a mark-making tool. I like the aspect of “collaboration with chance” the wind's unpredictable force introduces. A participant can draw by moving the mouse, collaborating with the wind's direction and speed. Based on hourly weather data RSS feed from NOAA.
